Same Day Access Hubs in Berkshire West

The Berkshire West Primary Care Alliance is currently running an interim service which commenced on 1st October 2024 and will run until the end of June 2025 whilst longer term arrangements are discussed and agreed. This service is a collaboration between BWPCA, RBFT and BHFT and is delivered at the Royal Berkshire Hospital out of Outpatients 1. Patients cannot self-refer into this service. The in-hours provision runs from 10:00 – 18:30 Monday to Friday by BWPCA and out of hours is delivered by Westcall from 18:30-08:00.

The service can see 75 patients per day, both paediatrics and adults, triaged from ED, reducing ED attendance by 10%. Some practices can refer patients to this service if they fit the inclusion criteria.

This services goal is to reduce pressures within general practice
